Japan says it will abide by its reconstruction pledges in Sudan
KHARTOUM, July 16, 2005 (Sudan Tribune) — Japan has said that it will fulfil its promises to reconstruct areas affected by war in Sudan as it had pledged at the Oslo donor conference.
According to SUNA, in a meeting today with the acting foreign affairs minister, Mustafa Osman Ismail, at the Foreign Ministry, the Japanese representative to Sudan, Yasushi Akashi, said Japan was committed to developing its relations with Sudan as well as increasing its economical support to Sudan in the near future.
On the sidelines of the bilateral talks they also discusses the reformation of the UN Security Council.
