Sudanese, Niger Presidents assert on boosting bilateral relations
KHARTOUM, Sep 19, 2003 (KUNA) — Sudanese President Omar Al-Beshir and Nigerien counterpart Mamadou Tandja asserted on the importance of developing relations and activating joint work between the two countries and other regional states.
The Nigerien President had arrived in the country last night for an official three-day visit. He was received by the Sudanese President in Khartoum Airport, with the attendance of the Sudanese Foreign Minister and other governmental officials.
The two presidents discussed bilateral relations and joint interests regionally and internationally. They also agreed on implementing all agreements signed during Al-Beshir’s visit to Niger last March.
The Sudanese President presented a detailed explanation to President Tandja, on the peace process in Nairobi and political and economic developments in Sudan.
The Nigerian President is scheduled to visit the Khartoum Refinery at Jaily, in addition to meeting with the Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Ismail, ruling National Congress Party (NCP) Secretary General Ibrahim Ahmed Omar and the Niger community in Khartoum.
