Senior CPC official meets Sudanese party guests
BEIJING, Sept 24, 2003 (Xinhua) — Jia Qinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met here Wednesday a delegation of the Sudanese National Congressive Party (SNCP), headed by general secretary Ibrahim Ahmed Omer.
Jia, who is also chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, said both China and Sudan valued the ties between the two parties and the two countries, and they had coordinated, supported and trusted each other in international affairs.
In recent years, political and economic ties had increased markedly, Jia said.
Both the CPC and the SNCP were ruling parties and it benefited both to enhance the friendly cooperation and to exchange experience of administration.
Omer said the SNCP and the Sudanese government treasured their ties with the CPC and the Chinese government, noting that his party and government would join with the Chinese side to promote friendly cooperation.
Sudan would continue to firmly adhere to the one-China policy, he added.
