New first vice president lauds Egypt’s support for Sudan’s peace
KHARTOUM, Aug 15, 2005 (Sudan Tribune) — The Sudanese First Vice-President of the Republic and president of the government of southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, has lauded Egypt’s support of Sudan and its continued backing of the peace process in the country.
In a press statement to the official news agency SUNA, after his meeting Monday at the Republican Palace with the first vice-president, the Egyptian ambassador to Sudan, Mohamed Abdelmoniem Al-Shazali, said that he reiterated Egypt’s keenness to boost the rehabilitation and development process in Sudan during the peace era.
He indicated he also affirmed Egypt’s readiness to support Sudan in the fields of agriculture and transport.
