Sudan to raise oil productivity to 500 barrels a day

Aug 24, 2005 (Khartoum) — The minister of energy and mining designate, Dr Awad al-Jaz, has renewed the Ministry’s commitment to raise oil productivity to 500 barrels a day by the end of this year.

In the press conference convened on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of exporting oil, Dr al-Jaz said that the celebration comes in the context of consultation and creating new visions for the future of oil industry in Sudan reviewing the surveys currently underway in all the states of Sudan.

The minister of energy has also pointed out to the amount of investments of oil in Sudan which surpasses 9bn dollars, this besides investments in non-petroleum products. He further asserted that the Sudanese oil is one of the three most valued crude oil in the world.
