Sudanese vice-president holds talks with chiefs of southern states

Aug 24, 2005 (Juba) — The first vice-president and president of Southern Sudan, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, held an extensive meeting this evening, in Juba town capital of Bahr al-Jabal, with administrators of the southern states and counsellors of the southern government, who had presented detailed reports regarding the participation of southern political forces on all federal and state levels.

The administrative supervisors presented reports giving the names of candidates for membership in the National Congress ‘parliament’, the National Assembly and for the southern states government, state legislative assemblies, as well as federal ministerial candidates and state ministers and representatives.
