Sudan ready to cooperate with US NGOs, says foreign minister

Aug 30, 2005 (Khartoum) — The minister of foreign affairs, Dr Mustafa Uthman Isma’il, has affirmed the government’s readiness to cooperate with those working in the fields of voluntary work with integrity and without interfering in Sudanese internal affairs.

This came during his meeting with a US delegation that is representing a voluntary organization in New York which works in Darfur.

Dr Mustafa told the press that he had briefed the delegation about the nature of the situation in Darfur, adding that the organization had good ideas and suggestions, especially concerning voluntary repatriation of [the displaced people].
