Sep 2, 2005 (Khartoum) — Sudanese and international experts in Entebbe yesterday started analysing and evaluating the reports on the two black boxes of the Ugandan helicopter which crashed recently carrying the late Dr John Garang.
The Sudanese ambassador to Uganda, Hasan Jad Karim, said the technical committee headed by Shambiuyl Adlan, with the assistance of international experts from the USA, Russia and Kenya, had started its meetings to analyse the reports on the two black boxes, in accordance with the data provided by the Russian company which built the aircraft.
He added that the experts would also evaluate the information gathered at the site of the crash, including the route of the aircraft, weather conditions and other data, with the mediation of the technical committee which visited the site.
The ambassador said he expected the committee to end its works on Saturday [3 September], and later issue a report to the national investigation committee headed by Abel Alier, which includes representatives from the Sudanese government and the SPLM. [Passage omitted]
