Sudan’s information minister meets media officials

Sept 3, 2005 (Khartoum) — Minister of Information and Communications Mr Abd-al-Basit Sabdarat has reaffirmed that the priorities of the information work in the coming period, would focus on consolidating the culture of peace, accord and mobilizing all sectors of the society for rehabilitation and development and channeling the capabilities for the implementation of the peace agreement.

The minister was speaking in a meeting with directors of departments at the External Information Council Saturday [3 September] in the presence of Secretary- General of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Abd-al-Dafi al-Khatib and Secretary-General of the External Information Council Bakri Awad al-karim Mulah.

The minister explained that the priorites of the media institutions in the coming period include preparations for Sudan’s hosting of a number of summit conferences, the first of them is the African Summit, scheduled for next January, the Arab summit in March and the summit conference of the African, Carribean and Pacific countries.
