Sudanese vice president to visit Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar
KHARTOUM, Sept 30 (AFP) — Sudanese First Vice President Ali Osman Taha will set out Wednesday on a tour that will take him to Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Qatar, a press report said.
During the tour ending Saturday, Taha will brief leaders of those countries on the developments in the Sudan peace process. That will include a deal recently signed with the southern Sudanese rebels on security arrangements during a six-year transitional period that would follow conclusion of a final peace agreement, Al Anbaa daily said.
The state-run newspaper carried an editorial hailing Egypt for its concern with the Sudanese problem, saying Egypt will therefore be the first country that should be informed of the developments.
