Sudan’s Kiir to inaugurate SPLM HQ in Khartoum
Sept 9, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The Sudanese first vice-president, who is also Sudan People Liberation Movement (SPLM) chairman, Salva Kiir Mayardit, is expected to inaugurate the SPLM general headquarters in Kafuri in Khartoum in the next two days.
According to the pro-governmental Sudan Media Centre (SMC), A reliable source in the SPLM said that the new premises would be a headquarters of the general secretariat of the SPLM after its leadership approved the interim regulations which will advance the movement’s activities until such a time when the general congress meets to permanently endorse the regulation and elect various organs.
The source further added that the principal secretariats established by SPLM included political secretariat, organization, finance, external relations, women, students, youth and others, pointing out that the SPLM organs were now focused in building the movement’s organizational structure according to the interim regulations under the direct supervision of the leadership.
