Garang widow meets Sudanese probe teamin Kenya
Sept 12, 2005 (KAMPALA) — The Sudanese team probing the helicopter crash that killed Dr John Garang has met his widow in Nairobi, Kenya.
Garang, Sudan’s first vice-president, died on July 30 in a plane crash in southern Sudan on his way from Uganda. Sources said on Saturday 10 September the team, led by Abel Alier, briefed Rebecca Nyandeng on the progress of the investigation into the death of her husband.
Alier’s team reportedly also met Kenyan and Sudanese People’s Liberation army medical experts who had taken samples of crash victims who included seven Ugandans. Sources said the team analysed data collected by different technical committees and the postmortem results.
