S. Africa donates presidential aircraft to S. Sudan govt
15 Sept 2005, (JUBA) — The southern Sudanese government yesterday received a presidential aircraft yesterday from the South African Republic as support in the framework of establishing peace and development in the southern states.
The deputy vice-president of the southern Sudanese government, Riek Machar, expressed his gratitude to the government and people of South Africa for this support.
He noted the South African government’s efforts in training southern cadres on different aspects, like training a number of high level diplomatic and government officials.
In this regard, the first vice-president and president of Southern Sudan, Salva Kiir Mayardit, met the air crew at his office at the general-secretariat of the southern government.
The crew arrived in Juba airport from South Africa yesterday.
