Sudan takes measures to check spread of HIV/AIDS
Sept 21, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The ministerial committee assigned to set health policies for foreigners residing and travelling to Sudan will today hold its first meeting.
During a press conference yesterday, the acting federal minister of health, Ahmad Bilal, said the ministerial committee, which consists of the minister of health, internal affairs, foreign affairs as well as the refugee’s affairs, discussed the strict regulations which will be taken to prevent the spread of AIDS and agree a code of conduct for foreigners to control their behaviour and to deport any foreigner who violates the code of conduct.
Ahmad said his ministry had began checking up foreigners in the states.
Al-Sahafah newspaper has reported that the committee was formed following the death of two members of the AU peace-keeping force who died from AIDS a few weeks ago.
