Saudi King, Sudanese president hold talks on bilateral issues
Sept 25, 2005 (JEDDAH) — Sudanese President Omer Al-Bashir and the Saudi King Abdalla bin Abdelaziz, Sunday held talks at the Royal Palace in Jeddah on progress of the bilateral relations between Sudan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and current issues at the Arab and Islamic arena.
The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector general, a number of princes and Sudanese officials.
Al-Bashir affirmed at the talks Sudan support to efforts of Saudi Arabia to boost the stability and development at area and its efforts in the Arab and Islamic World.
He also lauded the support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Sudan till peace is realized in the south.
President Al-Bashir has acquainted King Abdalla with the current situation in Darfur and the government efforts to solve Darfur issue.
He also referred to the ongoing influx of investors to Sudan, stressing that Sudan welcomes investors, especially that the country is enjoying stability.
Meanwhile, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques appreciated the visit of President Al-Bashir to Saudi Arabia, and affirmed the stand of the Kingdom alongside Sudan and its endevours to realize stability, security and development all over the country.
Sudan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Al-Amin Al-Karib, said to SUNA the two sides have discussed ways to cement the bilateral relations for the interest of the two sister countries as well as current issues at the Arab and Islamic World and the situation in Iraq.
He said that Sudan and Saudi Arabia agreed to reactivate the cooperation between them in all fields, describing the visit of President Al-Bashir to the Kingdom as successful and fruitful. He said that an agreement was reached on the exchange of visits and contacts by officials of the two countries.
The meeting between King Abdalla and President Al-Bashir was attended by the Minister at the Presidency Bakri Hassan Salih, the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ali Ahmed Karti, and Sudan Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Al-Amin Al-Karib.
