Eritrea, Djibouti hold talks on bilateral ties

Sept 27, 2005 (MASSAWA) — The third meeting of the Joint Eritrean-Djiboutian Border Committee (EDBC) is underway in Massawa.

The committee will discuss the social, political, economic and cultural issues that were previously agreed upon.

Speaking at the opening session, the Administrator of the Southern Red Sea region, Ms. Tsegereda Woldegergish, noted that efforts to strengthen bilateral relations in social, economic, political and cultural fields had a positive impact on both peoples and called for the further strengthening of relations.

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Djibouti, Hassan Omar Mohamed, said on his part that every member of the committee is called upon to strive for the implementation of the issues under discussion.

The meeting will stay on till September 29.
