Sudan, Eritrea agree to enhance ties

Oct 14, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — During the talks held in Khartoum, the Sudanese and the Eritrean sides stressed the importance of continuing the cooperation between the two countries at all levels in order to build up trust and widen the horizons of the Sudanese-Eritrean future relations.

The two sides agreed that a greater cooperation would serve the interests of both Eritrea and Sudan, and help achieve peace and stability.

The two sides agreed to set up a joint committee, which will be chaired by their respective foreign ministers and would convene to eliminate obstacles, discuss issues of common interests and work to strengthen and boost cooperation at all levels.

At the same time, it was agreed that a high-ranking Sudanese delegation would visit Eritrea as soon as possible to continue the dialogue and foster bilateral links.
