South Africa says interested in Sudan’s gold
Oct 14, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — South Africa has expressed its interest in carrying out mining work in Sudan, particularly in the field of gold refining.
According to the Khartoum based Akhbar al-Youm, this was announced during the meeting between Minister of Energy and Mining Awad Ahmad al-Jaz and the South African delegation headed by the deputy leader of parliament and former official in charge of the Sudanese peace dossier during the Naivasha negotiations, Obed Obela.
Al-Jaz renewed his invitation for the South African minister of energy and PetroSA oil company to visit Sudan.
