Sudan reviews development projects for donors meeting

Oct 15, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The Ministry of Finance has begun, in collaboration with the Council of Ministers, studying and revising projects, before being forwarded to the meeting of the donors’ fund, which is to be convened here at the end of current October.

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance, Al-Shiekh Al-Mak said, in a statement to SUNA, that the projects that would be financed by the fund in 2006 include various projects according to the priorities set by the Joint Assessment Mission (JAM).

These projects cover capacity building, health, education, resettlement of IDPs besides production sectors of rain-fed agriculture, animal resources and small- scale industries as well as improving infrastructures of roads, railways and river transport.

Al-Mak pointed out that the projects that are to be financed by the donors’ fund, must be included in the budget of 2006.

The donors’ fund comprises, besides the Word Bank and the United Nations, a number of donor countries that participated in Oslo Conference last April.
