Jordan’s King to visit Sudan 25 October

Oct 16, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The Jordanian Monarch King Abdullah II will arrive? ?here on Tuesday October on a short visit, accompanied by a high-ranking ministerial ??delegation.?

During his visit he will meet with the Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir and discuss bilateral talks and ways of improving it.

In a press statement today the Presidency of the Republic expressed the country’s gladness for the Jordanian King’s visit.

The Jordanian king was in Khartoum for the first time on April 5, 2005.

In August 2004, Jordan expressed readiness to send peace-keeping forces to the troubled Darfur region in Sudan, but only within an Arab agreement with Sudan.

In October 2004, Jordan sent an aircraft laden with humanitarian and medical aid and a team consisting of 17 doctors and medical technicians to Darfur.
