Oct 23, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The first vice-president and president of Southern Sudan, Lt-Gen Salva Kiir Mayardit, has issued a statement appointing ministers of the southern government according to the following list.

Minister for housing, lands and public service
– Riek Machar

Minister for Cabinet Affairs
– Justin Yaac Arop

Minister for police and security
– Daniel Awet Akot

Minister of finance and economic planning
– Arthur Akuien Chol

Minister of regional cooperation
– Nhial Deng Nhial

Minister for legal affairs and constitutional development.
– Judge Michael Makuel Lueth

Minister for education, science and technology
– Michael Milli Hussein

Minister of health
– Theophilus Ochang Lotti

Minister of industry and mining
– Maj-Gen (Retd) Albino Akol Akol

Minister of trade and supplies
– Anthony Lino Makana

Minister for information, broadcasting and television
– Samson Kwaje

Minister for communication and postal services
– Fier Cuang Luong

Minister for transport and roads
