Sudan calls France to understand Darfur complications
Oct 25, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Minister of Justice Mohamed Ali Al-Mardhi, receiving the Ambassador of France to Sudan Tuesday, called on the French government to deal with the situation in Darfur with deep understanding with all its complications.
The minister said in a press statement that his meeting with the Ambassador of France discussed issues of mutual concern, especially human rights and the situation in Darfur.
He affirmed the government’s keenness on trial of all accused persons in Darfur incidents.
He pointed out that he explained to the ambassador that a constitution was adopted in the country after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement that guarantees all rights and freedoms.
He said that the meeting tackled the relations in the humanitarian field and the NGOs, especially those working in Darfur, adding that he affirmed to the French Ambassador that these organizations are protected by the law.
