Sudan determined to implement peace deal

Nov 5, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Second Vice-President and Deputy Chairman of the ruling National Congress (NC) for Executive Affairs Ali Osman Mohamed Taha has affirmed the determination of the national unity government to continue the peace process.

Ali_O_M_Taha.jpgReceiving congratulations on the occasion of Id al-Fitr at the NC HQ here Friday 4 November evening from the executive, political and popular leaderships, in presence of NC Deputy Chairman for Political and Organizational Affairs Nafi Ali Nafi and NC Deputy Chairman for South Sudan Affairs Riek Gai, Taha called for the unification of the national ranks on the basis of humanity, citizenship, brotherhood and the joint responsibility.

Taha pointed out that the political leadership which constitutes the national unity government would lead the country under peace, reiterating the state’s commitment to implementation of the articles of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).

The Second vice-president stressed that Sudan entered the peace era and it is more capable and confident in its potentialities and human and economic resources besides political will through which it can surmount all challenges.

Taha called for applying religious values on the political and social practice, concentrating on the values of solidarity, helping the poor and deprived. He explained that these values strengthen the social and national unity.

Taha also called for benefiting from Id occasions in boosting of common teachings of religions.
