Kiir says SSDF will participate in the southern Sudan cabinet

Nov 22, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The first vice president and president of the southern Sudan government, Silva Kiir Mayardit, has pledged that the South Sudan Defence Forces (SSDF) will participate in the government of the ten states in southern Sudan.

According to the Sudanese radio, SSDF spokesman Maj-Gen Garhot Qarkot said during a meeting held yesterday with a number of SSDF commanders, Lt-Gen Kiir had stressed how important it was for SSDF to participate in the government of southern Sudan.
