Sudan accuses Chadian group of attacking border village
Nov 29, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan said on Tuesday that a Chadian armed group penetrating the Sudanese western border attacked a village.
Spokesman of the Sudanese army al-Abbass Abdelrahman Khalifa issued a statement saying the aggressors attacked the village of Faria, looted an arsenal of the local police, took the police’s vehicle and wounded some policemen.
The statement said the armed group also attacked the African Union troops who were patrolling south of Kulbus village before they headed westward in the same direction from which they had emerged.
Khalifa stressed that the Sudanese armed forces were “not powerless to deal with such aggressions and that we will stay awake guarding our legislative rights of security, peace and stability.”
