Eritrea’s president, Sudan’s opposition NDA leader hold talks
Dec 6,2005 (ASMARA) — Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki today held talks with Mohamed Osman al-Mirghani, leader of the Sudanese National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
In the meeting held at the Denden Hall, the Sudanese NDA leader said “we came to express our thanks to Eritrea’s support and treatment to the national Sudanese organization for 10 years.” He also commended Eritrea’s positive contribution and role in the Sudanese peace process.
Al-Mirghani briefed the President on the NDA’s participation in Sudan’s Government of National Unity.
He further assured that the special relations between the peoples of Eritrea and Sudan, as well as relations between the NDA and the Eritrean government will continue.
On relations between the Eritrean and Sudanese governments, al-Mirghani said that the NDA as member of the Sudanese government of national unity will exert utmost efforts to further promote the existing bilateral relations.
