Sudanese alliance ministers to be sworn in on 12 December

Dec 10, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Members of the opposition National Democratic Alliance (NDA) who are to participate in the government of national unity are due to arrive in the country tomorrow headed by Mohamed Osman al-Merghani NDA leader.

Al_Mirghani.jpgIn a statement to the pro ruling party Sudanese Media Centre, the NDA spokesman, Ali Ahmad al-Sayed, said that the NDA ministers who are to participate in the government of national unity will arrive in the country tomorrow and would be sworn in on Monday 12 December in the presence of the president of the republic Omar al-Bashir.

Al-Sayed said that the NDA members in the National Assembly would be holding a meeting tomorrow after the arrival of the three NDA ministers to discuss the strategic work of the NDA in the National Assembly.

He went on to say that seven NDA members would also be sworn in on Monday in front of the National Assembly Speaker, Ahmad Ibrahim Al-Tahir.

The NDA had earlier nominated Rtd Lt-Gen Abdelrahman Saeed as minister of science and technology, Mohamed Ibrahim Hamid as minister of general education and Abdeleahim Ali Hamd as state minister in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.
