Sudanese vice-president receives message from NDA leader

Salva Kiir Mayardit has received a written message from Chairman of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) Mohamed Osman Al-Mirghani, dealing with the national issues and efforts being exerted for consolidating peace and stability in the country.

This came when the First Vice President received at the Republican Palace Sunday the leading member of DUP, Ali Abarsi.

Lt. Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit expressed appreciation for the national efforts being exerted by Al-Mirghani and his contributions to the various issues in the country.

Al-Mirghani said in his message that he would pay a visit to southern Sudan immediately after his arrival in the country shortly.

Abarsi said in a statement to SUNA following the meeting that Al-Mirghani’s message dealt with the issues of common concern between the NDA, DUP and the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in the context of participation of the political forces in the political work besides his concern with the issues of Muslims in southern Sudan.

Abarsi stressed the importance of maintaining consultations and contacts between the National Congress, SPLM, NDA and DUP after its participation in the constitutional institutions in the country.
