Iran, Sudan Discuss Economic Cooperation, Investment

KHARTOUM, Oct. 15, 2003 (Asia Pulse) — Iran and Sudan discussed here on Monday possible avenues for bolstering economic ties and bilateral cooperation in the fields of joint venture.

In a meeting between Iran`s Ambassador to Sudan Hamid Bayat and Sudanese Minister of Investment Ahmad Omar Badr, the two sides exchanged views on implementation of accords already reached between the two countries in Tehran by the Joint Economic Commission.

Talking to IRNA, Bayat said the Sudanese side welcomed bilateral cooperation, particularly in the field of investment and called for active involvement of Iran`s private sector in his country. Meanwhile, Omar Badr stressed continuation of coordination between Tehran and Khartoum in all economic fields.
