Sudan proposes creation of African body for culture, education
Dec 16, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — Sudan proposed creation of an African Organization for Education, Sciences and Culture (AOESC), to enhance unity of the African continent through Education and Culture.
Sudanese proposal was made by the State Minister at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Abdelgadir Mohamed Zein, who chaired Sudan’s delegation to the Conference of the African Ministers of Culture, held in Nairobi recently.
The purpose of the proposed body is to safeguard the culture and the identity of Africa as well as serving culture of peace, development and coordinating of research.
The Proposal further stressed the needs to set up an African data base and printing press beside exchanging of expertise and training.
