European Union largest importer of Sudanese exports
KHARTOUM, Oct. 16, 2003 (KUNA) — An official report released here said the European Union (EU) was the largest importer of Sudanese exports, followed by Asian countries.
The report on the Sudanese trade exchange and exports during the first half of 2003 said the EU has exported 9.9 percent of Sudanese gold, and about 8 percent of the African country production of acacia or gum Arabic.
China topped the list of Sudanese oil importers with 9.92 percent, whereas Hong Kong imported about 2.5 of leather production. Algeria imported 9 percent of sesame production and Tunisia imported 6.3 percent of that same product.
The report highlighted the importance of paying attention to quality standards so as to attract importers to national products and boost exportation.
