Two Bulgarians arrested for selling arms to Sudan

SOFIA, Oct 16 (AFP) — Bulgarian authorities have arrested two men for selling weapons to Sudan in violation of an arms embargo, police said.

The men are charged with smuggling, embezzling and making false documents, the national investigative bureau announced.

Ruslam Ivanov, executive direcotr of a factory in northwest Bulgaria, and the man who held the post before him, Ludmil Gueorguiev, allegedly sold Sudan spare parts for a cannon worth a total of 500,000 euros (575,000 dollars).
