Sudan to construct 3 routes in southern and western Sudan
Dec 28, 2005 (KHARTOUM) — The Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges Wednesday signed at Holiday Villa Hotel in Khartoum an agreement with the Qatari Sariya Company to fund construction of the roads of Nuhud – Um Kadada, Nuhud – Al-Deain- Neyala and Renk – Malakal, at the cost of 600 million dollars.
The agreement was signed by the General Director of the National Authority for Roads and Bridges, Engineer Hamid Wakil, and the envoy of the Qatari company, Mahir Mohamed Nouri, in the presence of the Minister of Transport, Roads and Bridges, the State Ministers for Investment, Finance and Trade and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The signing ceremony was addressed by the State Minister at the Ministry of Transport, Roads and Bridges, Omer Suleiman Adam, who affirmed the state’s keenness to establish national roads in the coming period.
He called for more Qatari and Arab investments in Sudan at the field of transport, roads and bridges.
