Jan 1, 2005 (ROME) — The southern Sudan community in Italy (SSCI) is strongly condemning Egyptian authorities act against the innocents Sudanese refugees after the latest police riot on Friday 29 December at the ramshackle squatters in which more than 20 Sudanese were killed.

We condemn and strongly regret this brutal and unprecedent act against the human rights, international laws and the simple known civil covenants.

We look at this act as irresponsible upon the refugees’ demands for their legitimate right that was deliberately ignored for long years.

We condemn the barbaric and shameful killing of innocent children at condition where they should instead be taken care off!!!

We ask upon the government of Egypt to immediately release and report the whereabouts of the detainees as quickly as possible.

We, the southern Sudanese, do ask that such brutality should not be repeated anymore so as to repair the bad image and damage that this riot has already brought to Egypt government and Egyptian.

We express grief and deep sorrow for the victims who passed away in this massacre, may god rest them in peace.
