In a joint statement signed at the end of the joint talks held at the NC headquarters yesterday, the two sides affirmed that the next phase would witness a great step towards bringing the joint historic ties back to normal.

The statement was signed by the secretary of foreign relations of the NC, Kamal Obeid and the head of political affairs of the Eritrean PFDJ, Yemane Gebreab, the state-run SUNA reported.

The statement ensured the need to safeguard the strategic establishment between the two countries and the importance of communicating between the NC and the ruling PFDJ in Eritrea, as well as activating the works of the higher committee and setting up of sub-committees between the two parties.
