Salva Kiir attends South Sudan Investment, Development conference
Feb 13, 2006 (NAIROBI) — First Vice-President and president of the government of southern Sudan Lt Gen. Salva Kiir will attend here the Southern Sudan Investment and Development Conference to discuss strategies for long-term sustainable development in Southern Sudan.
The Vice-President of the Government of Southern Sudan (GOSS), Riek Machar, and some federal ministers will attend this event: Federal Minister of Energy and Mining Awad al-Jaz, Federal Minister of Investment, Malik Agar.
Also, will participate in the two days conference three ministers from the government of Southern Sudan (GOSS): Minister of Finance and Economic Planning, Arthur Akuein Chol; Minister of Industry and Mining, Albino Akol; Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Martin Lomuro.
The conference means to encourage international investors, financiers and the service sector to meet with their Sudanese counterparts and emphasis will be placed on dialogue and encouraging each participant to put forward their thoughts, reservations and needs.
The Sudanese private and public sector will also showcase future investment requirements and projects in the oil, gas, mining, infrastructure and agriculture sectors.
The event takes place in Nairobi, Kenya on the 14th and 15th March 2006.
The conference will deal different items related to the politics and investment, the framework for sustainable development, investment structures and procedures, oil and gas investments in Sudan, strategies for investment in Sudan’s mining sector, requirements and opportunities in infrastructure and agriculture.
