Ethiopia to build 3m-dollar prison in Addis Ababa
Feb 12, 2006 (ADDIS ABABA) — The Federal Prisons Administration will build a prison with an international standard at a cost of (27m birr 3m dollars).
According to the Addis Ababa based The Reporter, the prison will be built in Akaki, Kaliti in Addis Ababa. It will accommodate 1,500 prisoners.
The design of the building has been completed and a contract awarded to a firm to begin work.
The new prison will include bathrooms, a gym and academic and technical training schools.
