Former southern Sudanese rebels accused of recruitment
A special military force yesterday raided an office in the Suq al-Arabi in Khartoum after receiving information that a military recruitment was taking place on behalf of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement [SPLM].
The force found machines for printing magnetic military ID cards and enrolment forms for new recruits.
Six people were arrested. After [former leader of the South Sudan Defence Force] Paulino [Matip’s] forces denied any involvement in the matter, accusations were directed at the SPLM.
Meanwhile, the public prosecution office has taken over this alarming issue.
