First Vice-President, President of Southern Sudan Lt Gen. Salva Kiir Mayardit has stressed the need to end the south-south conflict, support peace and stability and work towards progress and development in order to reconstruct what the war has destroyed.
While addressing a mass rally in Rumbek — capital of Lake State — yesterday, Kiir said efforts should be doubled so that people in the south can take advantage of the achievements in development, which they missed during the war ended by the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.
He said President al-Bashir’s’ visit to Rumbek was meant to support the implementation of the peace agreement and the end of the war.
Also, Salva Kiir comment on the clan inter fighting to stop immediately. Furthermore he warned clan which is the roots cause of fighting among each another’s like Agar, Atuot Cic, Gok, Rek, to comply with Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) only and they remaining years for voting.
For his part, Governor of Lake State Brig-Gen John Lat said his government would now focus on the implementation of reconstruction and development programmes, as well as the improvement of public facilities.
