KHARTOUM, Oct. 23, 2003 — The presidential peace adviser, Dr Ghazi Salah-al-Din, has corrected news reported by some news agencies concerning the time framework of the peace talks.
The correction stated: As Sudanese government welcomes the US secretary of state’s support to the peace process, the government would like to reiterate its commitment to exerting more efforts so as to arrive at just and lasting peace ahead of the specified period. The government would like to say that setting of the date came following consultations by the two sides, an issue which confirms noble and sublime aspirations of both parties.
