TEXT – Proposed legislation on Humanitarian and Voluntary Work

Feb 19, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — Attached the text of the proposed legislation on “Humanitarian and Voluntary Work”, in English. The Bill is open for debate Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 February, and on Monday members of the National Assembly will vote on the Bill and any proposed amendments. The legislation will impact all national and international non-governmental (NGOs) working in Sudan, as well as all other civil society organisations in Sudan. Amnesty International’s “Memorandum on Humanitarian and Voluntary Work Bill 2006” sent Saturday addresses key concerns with the proposed legislation. NGO_EN_7-2-06.pdf
