Sudanese opposition leader receives Eritrean president’s envoy in Jedda

JEDDA, Oct. 24, 2003 — The chairman the [opposition] National Democratic Alliance [NDA] and chairman of the Democratic Unionist Party, Mawlana [honorific] Muhammad Uthman al-Mirghani, received at his residence in Jedda, Saudi Arabia, the day before yesterday Wednesday, 22 October, the envoy of Eritrean president, Isayas Aferwerki, Al-Ustadh [honorific] Abdallah Jabir.

The meeting came in the framework of discussing and consulting about the peace process in Sudan and ways of realizing a national consensus.

Meanwhile, the Eritrean envoy visit is expected to include a number of Arab countries where he will meet NDA leaders, in addition to Arab leaders in those countries.
