Negotiations Separate round of talks on conflict in central Sudan

NIVASHA, Kenya, Oct. 25, 2003 (MENA) — A separate round of talks will be held to discuss the conflict in the three central Sudanese provinces of Abyei, the Blue Nile and the Nuba Mountains, sources close to peace talks in the Kenyan city of Nivasha said Saturday.

Also, a decision will be made later this evening on whether negotiations on power and wealth sharing would be resumed or suspended, with the advent of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The current round of negotiations has centred on power and wealth sharing as well as transitional procedures.
