Salva Kiir to lead Sudanese delegation to donors conference in Paris
Mar 4, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — The First Vice-President of the Republic, Lt Gen Salva Kiir, is to head the government delegation for the Second Donors Conference, scheduled in Paris on 8, 9 March.
In a press statement Saturday, the State Minister at the Presidency of the Republic, Tilar Deng, called on the donors to fulfill their commitments in support of Sudan peace process, which they have declared at the first Donors Conference in Oslo in April 2005.
The minister regarded the stoppage of war, the commitment to peace and the steps adopted in this regard as great steps in implementation of the comprehensive peace agreement.
He described as important the meeting on Saturday between the President of the Republic and his deputies and the Finance Ministers of the federal government and South Sudan Government, and the State Minister of Finance concerning the oil revenues.
Deng announced that the committee for the demarcation of the borders is due to meet within a period of one week to continue its tasks and to determine the locations of the oil fields
