China grants 1.2 m dollars to rehabilitate Darfur
April 20, 2006 (KHARTOUM) — An agreement on Chinese grant for rehabilitation in Darfur was signed Thursday at an amount of 10 million yuans (1.2 million dollars) within the context of the humanitarian aid, which the Chinese government has been extending to Sudan.
The minister of international cooperation, Al-Tejani Salih Fudayl, signed on behalf of the government of Sudan while the Chinese ambassador to Sudan signed on behalf of his government.
The minister of humanitarian affairs attended the occasion.
The Chinese government extended in 2005 to the Sudanese government a similar grant of the same amount in humanitarian aid to Darfur.
