Ogaden UWSLF says killed 39 Ethiopian soldiers

May 25, 2006 — The UWSLF army which operates widely in Western Somali (Ogaden) has launched an attack on Ethiopian Troops convey at Bali Saredo area near Gunagado of Dagahbur Zone and killed 39 soldiers and wounded 8 others on 15 May 2006.
This heavy battle against the Ethiopian occupying forces coincided with a military offensive from Melese regime against the people of Western Somali which is underway for last two weeks and they killed more than twenty innocent civilians in different areas in Fiq,Kabridahre, Warder and Dagahbur.
The Melese regime trying desperately to exploit the wealth of the region by sending more troops to Western Somali , while the people of the region suffering severe drought and lack of basic human live .
The UWSLF Who took on behalf of the people of Western Somali the mission of defending their rights of self determination affirms that they still stand by their commitment until it is liberated from occupying troops.
We promise to proceed on this path until the occupied homeland is liberated .
