By James Gatkoy Tot*
June 7, 2006 — The resignation of Nhail Deng Nhail from the ministry of International and Regional Corporation in the government of South Sudan has raised alarm bell among South Sudanese citizens about what is going on behind the curtain in the government of South Sudan. The resignation of Nhail has provide us with two important issues as driving force behind his resignation from the above mention ministry , for example lack of progress and corruption. Incorporating all the protocol reached during the comprehensive peace agreement CPA, it is clear that word anti-corruption and formation of department anti-commission has been mention in many occasions by South Sudanese politician especially the President of government of South Sudan Mr. SALVA KIIR
I believe that the President of South Sudan still keeping his speech during the burrier of late Dr. John Garang in Juba the capital of South Sudan.. The above mention issues should be kept in mind by many South Sudanese because fighting corruption is very significant in developing South Sudan, overriding such issue will not be in the interest of South Sudan citizens as result we need solid conscience and common vision in developing our country South Sudan.
occupying our ethical values with self satisfaction will hinder the development of the South Sudan, therefore, we should not filling our pocket with share of oil and leave the people of South Sudan legging around displace camps in Khartoum the capital of Sudan. Being in bush for almost two decade and residing in deferent countries outside South Sudanese can teach us a lesson about the importance of being in your own country.
The resignation of Nhail Deng from the above mentioned ministry could encourage all citizens of South Sudanese to work collectively in serving the interest of South Sudan by forming the department of anti-corruption commission to developed South Sudan to reached the global standard based on stability and good spirit, as matter of fact we desperately need the formation of anti- commission department in South Sudan under the authority of President and Vice President of government of South Sudan if we want to divorce the corruption. Divorcing the corruption in South Sudan can allow us to use the resources for basis needs for instance, building new roads, providing healthcare centers, free education, building new housing and upgrading rivers ports instead of tents provided by the World Bank for public servants in South Sudan,
The resignation of Nhail Deng from the Ministry of international and Regional Corporation because of lack progress and corruption in the government of South Sudan could be utilize by SPLM party opponent for example, the others South Sudan political parties, the Northern Sudan political parties including the ruling party NCP, therefore, it is advisable that SPLM party must solved internal problems before it could reach boiling point. The Resignation of Nhail Deng could also jeopardize and influence the year 20011 referendum process, therefore, we need to work hard to keep the spirit of SPLA/M arm struggle and work for the welfare of South Sudanese and its people. Nhail Deng is among the best intellectual and freedom fighters for the people of South Sudan his resignation could send wrong signal to the international communities,
Therefore, I urge the SPLM Party leadership to show courage and genuine responsibility in resolving any issue that could affect the reputation of SPLM as party and hinder the development in South Sudan, we must forget the factional division and tribal regrouping that was inherit during the SPLM arm struggle and work collectively toward genuine unity and prosperity because South Sudan is still new bridegroom nation that need our collective effort to meet the challenges pose by new nation.
To conclude fighting corruption and speeding up with major development in South Sudan and divorce the factional division and tribal grouping is very important because we have to learn from the past mistake, therefore, resignation of Nhail Deng Nhail from ministry of international and regional corporation should not be ignored by the leadership of SPLM party because it will affect the referendum process and bring instability within SPLM. Party. I urge SPLM party leadership to take concrete stand in addressing any division and factional issues that could destabilize SPLM party progress. I strongly believe divorcing the tribal regrouping and factional ideal could pave way to the communal understanding among South Sudanese community. It is advisable Let not be occupied by our internal division and forget the Abyie issue.
