Egypt forms panel to boost integration with Sudan
CAIRO, Nov. 12, 2003 (MENA) — The People’s Assembly (the lower house of Egyptian parliament) Wednesday set up an ad hoc committee for fostering economic cooperation and integration with Sudan.
The decision was taken under steps outlined at a recent meeting of an Egyptian-Sudanese cooperation commission.
The Assembly’s Speaker Ahmad Fathi Surur said his Sudanese counterpart had notified Egypt of the names of a seven-member Sudanese delegation to the new panel, which will meet in Cairo in December and six months later in Khartoum.
The Egyptian legislature started a new session earlier in the day.
