Sudanese peace talks rescheduled for three weeks time

KHARTOUM, Nov. 13, 2003 (dpa) — Peace talks aimed at bringing an end to the 20- year civil war between Sudan’s Moslem north and animist and Christian south have been rescheduled for three weeks time.

Sudanese Presidential Peace Advisor, Ghazi Salah Eldin said the government plans to gather members of the top political leadership for a meeting between the government and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA).

Under the arrangement, lower level talks will begin before December 5.

Sudanese talks were adjourned last month until November 30, 2003 owing to requests from both sides.
