Sudan keen to continue political dialogue with EU – FM

26 June (kHARTOUM) — Foreign Minister, Lam Akol Ajawin, affirmed Sudan’s keenness to keep on the political dialogue between the Sudan and the European Union in a regular way towards transforming it into a partnership framework to exchange interests.

Lam_Paris.jpgThe Sudanese Minister received at his office Monday the French Ambassador to Sudan, Christine Robichon, in a view that France is a current president of the EU.

The French Ambassador conveyed to the Minister the intention of the EU side to intensify and continue the dialogue between the two sides to serve the interests of the two sides.

The Minister reviewed the outcomes of his recent visit to France and the bilateral and regional issues he discussed with the French Officials there.

On 14 June during a visit to Paris, Akol asked France to mend Sudan’s shaky with its neighboring Chad; which accuses Khartoum of backing Chadian rebels and broken off diplomatic relations.

As for the situations in Darfur, the Minister renewed Sudan’s opposition for deployment of International forces in Darfur region, affirming commitment to implement Abuja peace agreement which did not stipulate for any role of UN in the Security arrangements in Darfur.
